responders. Offers education in disaster preparedness and health and
safety education, including training and certification in first aid, CPR,

The Shelter provides safe house protection, a 24-hour hotline, emergency

Shorkey Center

Shorkey is a 66 year-old rehabilitation and education center providing
pediatric physical, occupational and speech services, and is a TEA
recognized Non-Public School, meeting the needs of children with autism
and other related disorders. Shorkey's new addition is a Down
Syndrome school for children ages 6 months - five years, opening in
September, 2010. The Shorkey Center provides parent
assistance/training and support for all programs.

community including adult and adolescent alcohol and drug assessments,

for more than 130 non-profit agencies with programs to feed the poor.
Millions of pounds of food are distributed each year to help low-income
families and
individuals.
We provide weekend food for low-income children through the BackPack
Program, nutrition education to help low-income families eat well on a
budget, and direct food distribution to communities with few resources
throught the Mobil Pantry Program.

Provides medical, spiritual, and psychosocial care to terminally ill
persons and their families in their homes, in nursing homes, and in
assisted living centers. Care is available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week. Following a death, family members are provided grief
counseling for one year.

Maintains domestic and overseas entertainment and provides a liaison for
communication to men and women in military service.
