United Way of Beaumont and North Jefferson County will host its 2nd Annual “Day of Caring” from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5 to connect local businesses and their employees with volunteer projects helping in Harvey-damaged homes.

For this unique one-day community volunteer event, United Way will partner with local long-term recovery groups, Nehemiah’s Vision, IConnect Outreach, and Disaster Ministries of United Methodist Church (UMC) to provide help to community members in the devastated areas of Beaumont and Hardin County who were affected by Harvey.

United Way has organized the “Day of Caring” by reaching out to local businesses in the Beaumont area to construct teams of volunteers for the event. Those teams will be working in homes pre-qualified by Nehemiah’s Vision, IConnect Outreach, and Disaster Ministries of UMC to assist flood victims with projects such as painting, caulking, laying flooring, exterior and interior clean-up, debris removal, etc.

Through United Way’s recruiting efforts from local corporate and community business partners and organizations, more than 25 local businesses and over 150 volunteers have pledged to participate in the 2019 United Way “Day of Caring” event.
