About The Performer:
Kate is a 29-year-old singer/songwriter. She was inspired to start singing when she heard Mariah Carey's ‘Hero’ in the mid-90s; she was five. She had a very active singing career in high school, and was accepted in the music education program at the University of Kansas in 2009. One might say she was classically trained. But that didn't work out- though she loved to sing, she found it was more of a soul-nourishing activity than something she wanted to do for a career. She experimented being in a band several times, and is even on a home-produced experimental rap album. Originally from Kansas, she moved to Beaumont in 2015, where she currently resides on a farm. Now she enjoys playing for herself at home, or for open mic night at the Logon Cafe, while she pursues her career in counseling.
