Karyn Husbands is a purpose-driven leader who has built a successful career founded on principles of integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of Southeast Texans.

A proud Lamar University alumna, Karyn holds dual Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Marketing and Accounting and is also a Certified Public Accountant. Her journey with the United Way of Beaumont began in 1992, when she joined the organization as a student employee. This brief but powerful opportunity ignited her lifelong dedication to community service and proved to be a pivotal moment in her career.

After gaining valuable experience in public accounting and private industry, Karyn returned “home” to the United Way of Beaumont in 2000 to serve as Finance Director. For 12 years, she guided the organization’s fiscal stewardship with precision and transparency before being named President & CEO in 2012.

Under her leadership, the United Way of Beaumont and North Jefferson County has flourished, expanding its impact, strengthening community partnerships, and launching innovative initiatives that have transformed the lives of countless local families. With more than two decades of service in the nonprofit sector, Karyn’s leadership stands as a testament to her passion, perseverance, and unwavering belief in the power of a unified community.

A lifelong learner, avid CrossFit athlete, and devoted member of Praise Church, Karyn approaches life with the same energy and purpose that have defined her career. Her greatest joy comes from her family - her husband, Ronnie; her son, Will; and her granddaughter, Hattie - as well as the joyful company of four deeply beloved dogs, and a cat named Max, who keep life lively and full of love.
